Geeta Hasmat-Ali

  • Agency Responsible individual for 10 years plus
  • Qualified with an NVQ 5 in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People)
  • Qualified with an NVQ 4 in Health & Social Care (Adults) and Leadership and Management for Care Services
  • Geeta has over 20 years’ experience working in a fostering agency.

Marie Ologbosere

Agency Decision Maker

Experience:

  • Marie’s role is to make the final decision on a foster carers approval.
  • Qualified with an MA in social policy and administration, BA in anthropology, Diploma in Social Work and Cilfa in Management and Leadership
  • Marie has over 25 years’ experience in social care and has undertaken a number of management roles.

Varsha Jeremie

Panel Chair

Experience:

  • Varsha’s role is to chair our fostering panel where recommendations are made on a foster carers approval.
  • Qualified with a BA in social work
  • Varsha has over 15 years’ experience in the fostering field and has experience fostering herself.

Noor Ali (Jnr)

Director

Experience:

  • Over 10 years of experience working in fostering and the wider social care sector.
  • Holds a BSc in Mathematics, NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management, and an MA in Social Work.
  • Noor is passionate about making a meaningful difference in people’s lives, especially children and young people.
  • Noor provides ongoing senior-level support to the organization, with oversight of operational development and the overall progress of the wider organization.

Shabeer Ali

Director

Experience:

  • Qualified with a BA in Social Work & NVQ 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services.
  • Shabeer has extensive experience running the service and is in charge of overseeing our Family Finding Team, and supervising staff among other operational activities.
  • Shabeer enjoys working closely with foster families and children, as well as supporting the wider team to achieve goals and objectives.

Deborah Aremu

Service Manager

Experience:

  • Deborah has over 15 years’ experience in fostering where she has held serval positions including. Registered Manager, SSW and Senior Practitioner.
  • Currently is a trustee for a small charity in Stratford.
  • Thoroughly enjoys building relationships with foster families, and supporting them within their role to provide safe, caring and nurturing homes for children and young people, which meet their holistic needs. Deborah also enjoys supporting Social Workers with their professional growth and development, to empower and equip them to best meet the needs of children.

Isaac Akinremi

  • Isaac has over 5 years of experience working as administrator and youth leader at local church, including working with looked after children.
  • While Isaac is working at Family First Fostering, he is hoping to apply his obtained skills and experience to his role. He likes to offer his all and be a good team player. He is hoping to gain more knowledge, experience and to be able to grow within the organisation.

  • Karima has experience working with the elderly and children with disabilities and additional healthcare needs.
  • Karima is passionate about supporting children, families and the community which comes from her own experience with social services in her childhood. Karma hopes she can use her knowledge and experience in her role to support and promote foster carers and children to achieve their best outcomes.

  • Joy has over three years’ experience in administration

Experience:

  • Qualified with a MA in Social work, MA Diploma in Child Protection and pursuing Level 4 advanced diploma in trauma informed practice.
  • Over 7 years’ experience in the fostering sector and over 4 years in management positions.
  • Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy and PACE practitioner offering therapeutic support to foster carers and staff.
  • Kulsum brings transferable skills as a capacity building and training facilitator.

Mariya Bham

Fostering Team Manager

Experience:

  • Holds an MA in Social Work and an LLB in Law.
  • Currently completing a Level 7 qualification in Leadership and Management.
  • Brings over 8 years of experience in fostering, both within local authorities and our agency.
  • Offers a strong set of transferable skills within the fostering sector and is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of looked-after children.
  • Particularly enjoys foster carer recruitment and the assessment process.

  • Passionate about working with children and young people, aiming to make a positive difference in their lives.
  • Previously has experience as a foster carer for nearly three years and as a contact supervisor.

Paul Spraggs

  • Paul has over 10 years of experience in psychotherapy, working with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
  • His therapeutic approach is rooted in Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), having been trained directly by Professor Paul Gilbert OBE—the founder of CFT—through The Compassionate Mind Foundation.
  • Before joining Family First, Paul worked for many years as a mental health lead, collaborating with local authorities, CAMHS, schools, and parents to support young people across the borough.
  • Paul is passionate about empowering foster carers to cultivate compassion and understanding, both for themselves and for the children in their care.

Shamima Hoque

Family Finding Officer

Experience:

  • Currently a Family Finding Officer at Family First Fostering with over five years of prior experience as a Senior Placement Officer in children and adult social care.
  • Holds a BSc in Psychology and has worked in roles including Honorary Psychologist, Assistant Psychologist, and Social Care Assessor.
  • Experienced in managing referrals, completing assessments, drafting support plans, and conducting risk assessments.
  • Passionate about working with children, with previous experience in nurseries and daycare centres, strengthening her nurturing and communication skills.
