Welcome to Family First Fostering
Family First Fostering is a friendly, supportive, and professional Independent Fostering Agency (IFA) based in London. We are passionate about learning, developing, and investing in, our foster carers. We recruit foster carers across the country and have a local team to support you.
At Family First Fostering, we pride ourselves in creating an approachable ethos, so that our foster carers always feel supported. We encourage and welcome both new and experienced foster carers. By offering a holistic support package, we ensure children in care receive a good quality of care and lots of opportunities to grow.
We value a community-based approach, which encourages the child or young person to interact with the outside world in an effort to ease their eventual transition to independent living. We continuously strive to offer our foster carers required skills and confidence to support vulnerable children and young people in their homes.
About Us
Family First Fostering was established in June 2012 and achieved its initial registration in November of the same year. The agency was founded with a clear mission: to help redress the imbalance experienced by some children in the care system due to discrimination, including sexism, racism, and other forms of prejudice.
As a pioneering Independent Fostering Agency, Family First Fostering was created to meet the needs of children in care, aged 0–18, who require safe, supportive, and high-quality foster homes. We believe that every child and young person deserves the same opportunities as their peers—regardless of their background or experiences. Every child should grow up in a nurturing environment that supports their development and empowers them to reach their full potential.
Our foster carers play a vital role in helping children regain control of their lives and move forward in a positive and meaningful way.
We achieve our goals through the implementation of excellent care practices among both staff and foster carers. We are committed to working in partnership with children and young people, their families, and other professionals—including specialised experts such as therapists and counsellors.
We understand the lasting impact that trauma and vulnerability can have on a child’s life. That’s why we work closely with a dedicated team of in-house psychotherapists, who provide one-to-one support to both foster carers and staff. This helps ensure care is tailored to meet the individual needs of each child.
In addition, we offer a comprehensive and ongoing training and skills development programme for our foster carers, equipping them with the tools and confidence to provide the best possible care.
Message from our Registered Manager
Hello and welcome! My name is Victor Morata, and I’m proud to be the Registered Manager here at Family First Fostering.
At Family First, we’re a child-centred fostering agency with a clear mission: to promote and achieve positive outcomes for the children and young people in our care. What sets us apart is our family ethos. We truly see our foster carers, the children and young people they care for, and their wider networks as part of one big extended family.
We work hard to ensure our Supervising Social Workers, Managers, and Admin Team are empowered to offer strong, consistent support to our foster carers, who carry out the incredibly important job of caring for some of society’s most vulnerable children and young people. Our support is available 24/7, because we know that fostering doesn’t stop after regular working hours and carers need ongoing support.
Over the past few years, we’ve been growing steadily, and with that growth has come an increased demand for compassionate, committed foster carers. I want to take this opportunity to thank our existing carers and staff for their dedication and tireless efforts. Your work truly makes a difference in the lives of so many.
To those considering joining us I warmly welcome you to the Family First Fostering community. Yes, fostering can be challenging, but it is also one of the most rewarding journeys you can take. And throughout that journey, we’ll be with you every step of the way.
